What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis occurs when endometrial tissue that usually lines the inside of a woman’s uterus (womb) is also present outside of her uterus. Endometrial tissue, whether inside or outside the uterus, responds to hormone changes by thickening and then shedding or bleeding. For women who have endometriosis, the bleeding occurs in areas where it shouldn’t, often resulting in pain.

What are some of the common symptoms of endometriosis?

    • Mild, moderate or severe pain and cramping during your period
    • Painful sex
    • Painful bowel movements or urination
    • Excessive bleeding
    • Bleeding outside of your periods

How can Diana Health help?

We’ll consult with you, listen to your symptoms, discuss your medical history and learn more about your menstrual health. Your provider may then conduct a physical exam, run lab tests, or order an ultrasound, depending on your unique situation.

Once we have worked with you to find the root cause of your symptoms, we’ll work together to create a treatment plan that includes medical and lifestyle solutions. You can find relief from endometriosis, so don’t give up!
