I’ve had a passion for women’s health since I was young, and I feel a strong connection to women in various aspects of their lives, which allows me to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. She is driven by a lifelong passion for women’s health, which has shaped her career since childhood. Shayla believes her ability to relate to women in various stages of life enables her to offer a unique and empathetic approach to care. Shayla is excited to bring her expertise, caring approach, and commitment to work-life balance to the Diana Health team in her telehealth role, providing outstanding care to women across Florida.
Shayla holds a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, IA. Her clinical experience includes working at the Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Medicine, where she focused on reproductive endocrinology, fertility treatments, and OB/GYN ultrasonography. She has performed a range of procedures, including intrauterine insemination (IUI), saline sonograms, and endometrial biopsies. Over 50% of her visits were conducted via telehealth, a model she values for its flexibility and work-life balance.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the horse stables with her 10-year-old daughter, an avid equestrian. She also loves shark teeth hunting at the beach, has a deep passion for food, and enjoys traveling around northeast Florida and southern Georgia to watch her talented musician partner perform. In her adventurous past, she has skydived 26 times—an experience that showcases her fearless spirit.
