As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I’m excited to be part of a team that provides comprehensive care, empowering women to overcome challenges and achieve balance in their lives.

Julie Smith is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to providing holistic healthcare for women throughout their lives. With 15 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Julie has worked in a range of settings, including Women’s Health, Family Practice, and Pediatrics. Through her diverse clinical background, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact mental health can have on overall physical health and well-being, which inspired her to expand her expertise in mental health care.

Recognizing the critical intersection of mental and physical health, Julie pursued advanced education in psychiatric care and earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification in 2023 from Tennessee Technological University. She is excited to integrate this knowledge into her practice and provide comprehensive care for women, addressing both their physical and mental health needs.

Julie earned her Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Vanderbilt University in 2009, following her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University in 2006. Her advanced training, combined with her extensive experience, allows her to offer a unique, well-rounded approach to healthcare.

A native of the Upper Cumberland region, Julie grew up in Byrdstown and has called Cookeville, TN home for many years. Outside of her professional life, Julie enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, hiking, and reading. She is passionate about supporting women in all aspects of their health and looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact in her community through both her clinical expertise and compassionate care.
