Dr. Cortney Cabell is thrilled to join the team at Diana Health to bring whole health, compassionate health care to women in the Middle Tennessee area. Originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, Dr. Cabell graduated with honors from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Psychology in 1996. Following the completion of a post baccalaureate program at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, she was accepted to Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN and graduated in 2003. She completed her postgraduate training in 2007 from St Peter’s University Hospital/Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology (formerly affiliated with Drexel University College of Medicine) in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Cabell started her career journey with Westside Family Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Wilmington, DE. She was Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009. Clarksville, Tennessee welcomed her back South to join Premier Medical Group in 2011, where she was a partner for eleven years.
The marriage of psychology, medicine, dermatology, surgery, and radiology, as they all relate to reproductive health were the catalysts in her pursuit of a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and one of the reasons she joined the Diana Health team. Of particular importance to Dr. Cabell is educating adolescents on their development and teaching them about preventative care. The beauty of seeing a patient from the inception of pregnancy to the precious moment of delivery has been one of the greatest joys of her career. Being able to provide treatment plans for women who have had gynecological issues to enable them to have a more fruitful, improved life quality is an honor. Caring for and empowering women throughout the lifespan are some of the most unique, rewarding aspects of the field and Dr. Cabell takes great pride in being able to provide these services.
Dr. Cabell’s skillsets include: high-risk obstetrics, major and minor gynecological procedures, minimally invasive surgical procedures including the use of the daVinci Xi robotic system, and in office procedures, including colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and LEEP.
In her spare time, Dr. Cabell enjoys time with friends, live performance, a myriad of musical genres, exploring new cuisine, wine tasting, and flying the friendly skies with international travel.
