Alexandria Zayer
CNM, SANE

Certified Nurse Midwife, Tennessee Locations

After working as a sexual assault nurse examiner, my passion for women’s health deepened, and I knew I wanted to pursue midwifery full-time. I had always been drawn to supporting birth, and this experience inspired me to go back to school and turn that passion into a career.

Specialties: Assault survivors-trauma informed care; pregnancy loss; adolescent care

Alexandria Zayer, CNM,  earned her MSN in Midwifery from the University of Colorado Anschutz and has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care. With extensive experience as an out-of-hospital midwife at a free-standing birth center, she has cared for women through preconception and fertility, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. Alexandria’s skill set also includes guiding sexual health through STI education, testing, treatment, and contraception, as well as supporting patients in problem-focused OB/GYN visits and annual check-ups.

Her passion for women’s health began while working as a sexual assault nurse examiner, where she saw the profound need for trauma-informed care. This experience inspired her to return to school to become a midwife, blending her deep interest in birth with a desire to support women in a more holistic and hands-on way. She’s excited to join the Diana Health model of care to provide this care for her patients.

Alexandria is especially passionate about providing trauma-informed care to assault survivors, supporting individuals through pregnancy loss, and working with the adolescent population. She believes in creating a safe, supportive environment where women can feel heard, respected, and empowered in all aspects of their healthcare journey.

Outside of her work in women’s health, Alexandria loves spending time in nature with her husband, daughter, and dog. Whether hiking, camping, or simply enjoying the outdoors, she finds joy and balance in her time away from work.
